Monday, September 10th we kicked off the school year with our first Connecting Point event, Project: Connect. With
over 100 ladies we enjoyed refreshments from local businesses, tons of
giveaways, sweet worship time and we had the opportunity hear from Mrs.
Charlotte Akin and Denise O'Donoghue. Check out the pictures below from
the event!
Mrs. Akin and Denise did a Q&A and
answered some fun and tough questions from those who attended the
event. Didn't get your question answered? Don't despair, we will be doing a
blog where you can submit your questions to Mrs. Akin and Denise in
the next few weeks, so keep an eye out and send in any questions you
have for them.
Local restaurants donated some yummy treats for the event including Chick-fil-A, Milton's, Palsies and even our own cafe on campus, The Court, donated some of their famous fruit salad. We wish that we could have taken a picture of the food at the end of the night because the chicken nugget tray was empty! Needless to say, we all left with full stomachs.
The main goal of this event was to network the female students and spouses with each other & the Wake Forest area. At the event we also heard from Debbie Ladd of the Share Shop/Manna Ministry, Tracy Crisp from Bay Leaf Baptist Church Toy Chest, and Sheena Sam &Cherie Scholes on the Ladies Fitness Classes on campus. If you would like more information on how you can get connected to any of these ministries please let us know. We were able to give over 20 door prizes, and everyone left with a goodie bags.

Mark your calendars for the next Connecting Point Event coming up Monday, October 22nd Project: Community. At this event we will focus on connecting you to local organizations that are reaching the international community here in the RDU area. World Relief and SIT will be sharing ways to get involved with their ministries. As always there will be refreshments, good times, and giveaways!
