Can you believe that the 2012-2013 school year is nearly over?  As you prep for exams, make summer plans, and start to work on your tans, here are a few things to keep in mind:

Monday, May 6th at 7pm
Project: Commission

Please join us in the Jacumin Simpson mission building as we send our 2013 deployment group off with a concert of prayer.  We will spend the evening learning about the areas these ladies have been called to, praying over them, and reading Scripture together.  We hope to see you at our last Connecting Point event of the year!

Congratulations to all of our Spring 2013 graduates from the Biblical Women’s Institute!

Join us in chapel on May 7th as we honor Laurie Long, Linda McLaurin, and Petra Spain.  All three ladies earned the Diploma in Women's Studies.  We are proud of your hard work, ladies!

Care for the people in your area.
Aid families as they have need.
Reach women with important info from the Women’s Life Office.
Encourage those around you.

If you are interested in serving SEBTS in this way, please contact the Women’s Life Office at 919.761.2340 or womenslife@sebts.edu.

Welcome back from what we hope was a wonderful weekend. We sure had a blast at the Self-Defense class on Saturday. It was a huge success! If you missed the action, be sure to look out for it next year!

As we wrap up this short month, we wanted to be sure to keep you updated on the happenings here in the office. We have a little something planned for everyone in the coming weeks, so be sure to see what interests you!

Monday, March 4: COLLEGE GIRL'S NIGHT (7-9pm)
For college ladies only! Come join us for a night of fun at Magnolia Hill with our own Mrs. Charlotte Akin. Be ready to be just a little bit silly, spend time getting to know one another and Mrs. Akin, and (of course) snack on some delicious goodies!

March 12: TERM 2 BEGINS
If you are interested in taking BWI classes this semester, time is running out to turn in your applications and register for Term 2 classes. Be sure to contact us here at the office if you have any questions! (919)761-2340 or womenslife@sebts.edu

Monday, March 18: PROJECT:COMPASSION (7-8:30pm)
At this Connecting Point event, we will hear from Dr. Steve McKinion and his wife Ginger about how to minister to the hurting. All of us know someone who is in the middle of a difficult time, but we often don't really know what to do or how to encourage them. Dr. McKinion and Ginger will walk us through what it's like to go through painful circumstances and how Christians can minister to those who are hurting. Stay tuned for more information! In the meantime, feel free to check out Dr. McKinion's blog for more of their story.

April 5-6: FAMILY LIFE CONFERENCE
Once again, Dr. Akin will be hosting his wonderful Family Life Conference here. The conference is open to the public, so be sure to secure your spot by registering today! Dr. Akin’s heartfelt teaching on marriage, child-rearing and many other topics will leave you refreshed and encouraged. For more information, please visit the Family Life webpage. This conference is also available as a BWI class.

As always, if you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to be in touch! 919.716.2340 or womenslife@sebts.edu

We look forward to seeing you!

Business Wednesday

Good Wednesday morning to you!  Here in the Women's Life Office, we are busily preparing for the start of New Student Orientation  tomorrow and classes, which begin next week.  We hope you are as excited as we are about classes and events this semester!

As this new semester kicks off, we wanted to make sure to keep you in-the-loop with everything going on in the office. Check back every Wednesday so that you don't miss anything!

It's still not too late to register for Term 3 BWI classes, but the classes begin next week. To register for the first time, please contact the Women's Life Office at womenslife@sebts.edu or (919) 761-2340.  You can view the full listing of classes and course descriptions by clicking here (scroll down just past the Connecting Point events).

Childcare is available for Thursday evening classes.  To register your child(ren) please complete this form and return it to the Women's Life Office with your childcare payment by this Friday, January 18th.

Monday, February 4th at 7pm is our Connecting Point kick-off event for this semester. We are so excited to see you all at Project: Captive. The purpose of this event is to open our eyes to the oppression of the sex-trafficking trade. Many of you may have heard of the movement that took off at Passion 2012, and we can't wait to share more with you about what we all can do to end sex-trafficking.

The 2013 Family Life Conference is coming up! The conference will take place April 5-6, 2013, and it is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about your own marriage and family. The conference only costs $25 per couple, so perhaps you can even make a date-weekend out of it. For more information on the conference, visit the event page.

BWI students may also receive course credit for attendance at the conference. In order to receive course credit, be sure to click "Yes" when you are asked "Are you attending for BWI course credit" before you pay for the conference.

We are looking forward to our second SEBTS Women's Self Defense class, taught by our own Nathan Brown. The class will be held on Saturday, February 23rd from 12pm-2pm. Learn what to look out for and how to protect yourself in dangerous situations.  For more information about what Nathan will be teaching, feel free to visit his website.
