The rain and ice didn't deter Southeastern women from fellowship and learning about Christ's abiding love!

In case you missed the event, or want to walk down "memory lane", enjoy the pictures below!

The night started out with setting up and preparing for the "fon" due event!

Women slowly began to trickle inside from the chilly, icy air.

After registering, women quickly began loading their plates with yummy treats to dip into the chocolate that was awaiting them on their tables.

Let the fun and messiness begin...

Catherine Blinson started the evening out with a fun game.

Gift cards were given to the winners...

After some gab and games had taken place, the women spent time worshiping Jesus' magnificent name.

After a wonderful time of fellowship and worship, Lauren McCall, a current student at Southeastern, spoke about Lifestyle Evangelism.

Referring to the words of truth in John 15, Lauren gave practical tips in how to abide in Christ in a personal context as well as when sharing the gospel truths with those around us.

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine dresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. 17 These things I command you,so that you will love one another.

Until next time, may you abide in His great name!!!

Last night's Connecting Point Event was awesome!  Take a look:

Denise kicked off the evening by welcoming everyone and introducing our speaker.

The ladies were excited to begin, and the icebreaker got everyone laughing.

We enjoyed tasty finger sandwiches provided by the Seminary Women's Club and desserts.

 There were a few giveaways . . .

And we tried to identify the children of famous Biblical parents.

Then Amber Lehman, CEO of First Choice Pregnancy Solutions shared with us.

We learned what the center does . . .

And how we can help women who face unplanned pregnancies.

We can be advocates in our local churches. Someone needs to start the conversation about abortion in the church! Women need to know that the Lord is the healer of all wounds.

We hope to see you all at the next event!

If you would like to support First Choice, their annual fundraiser is coming up. Click here for more information about the 4000 Steps Walk-a-thon!

We hope to see you on Monday night for the first Connecting Point event of 2014!

Connecting Point events at SEBTS are designed to bring women together and to impact our communities.  At our Connecting Point event on October 21, 2013 (Engaging Our Own), we prayed over missionaries in the U.S. and around the world who have been sent out from Southeastern.

We also wrote them notes of encouragement and sent the wives of the North American church planters each a special gift.

Dear Ladies of Connecting Point,

After a long, emotional week in the life of church planting, being a mom, and being a wife, a glimpse of hope came in the mail!  Your words of encouragement and talk of prayer could not have come at a better time.

To not feel alone in this mission for one moment was like fueling up my empty tank of passion for this calling.

I recall, during my short stay at SEBTS as a student wife preparing for the field, feeling so full of passion and energy for those that do not love our Lord. Being surrounded by Christians 24/7, neighbors, work, church, classes … I fed off that energy and spoke to missionaries every chance I got.  I wanted to know everything, ups and downs, challenges and struggles.  They all warned of the loneliness.  I doubted that would be the case for me. I make friends easy.

But at the end of our two years here in a very lost corner of the USA, I found myself lonely.  As I am finding joy in my love for God and love for the people God has called us to, I am also finding joy in little things I might not have found so joyful two years ago.  And now I am praising our Lord for working through the Connecting Point ministries to reach out and hold me and warm me up through a hot cup of joe!

Thank you ladies for being such the encouragement I needed on that very moment I opened the letter!

Thank you,
Darlene Dryer

Our second Connecting Point event of the year was this Monday, and if you missed it, you missed a wonderfully sweet time!

As the evening started, ladies mingled and enjoyed goodies provided by Las Margaritas Mexican Restaurant, Charlie's Kabob, and the incredible ladies of the Southeastern Women's Club.
We then had a chance to hear from three Southeastern ladies who have recently spent time around the US and the world on mission trips. They shared what God taught them and reminded us why missional living is so important. After they spoke, we spent some time worshiping the Lord together, led by Heather Lawrence..

Then we had the opportunity to hear from Michelle Horton, a Southeastern graduate and church planter in Washington, D.C. As Leslie asked her questions about life as a church planter, we learned some of the challenges that married and single ladies may face as they take the Word of God to the lost.

Finally, we spent some time writing notes of encouragement to church planters and missionaries around the country and the globe. After all, Michelle's encouraging presentation reminded us all just how important those encouraging messages are to Christian workers.

The letters are in the mail, and we will continue to pray for our sisters as they share the love of Christ with a lost world!

Join us at our next event on November 2nd.
The Craft and Bake Sale will take place in the Ledford Center Gym from 9am-3pm.
See you there!
