Christian Women’s Job Corps, a ministry of the Woman’s Missionary Union in partnership with the Raleigh Baptist Association is seeking volunteers to serve as mentors and teachers. CWJC serves women trapped in the cycle of generational poverty by empowering and equipping them to move from a life of dependency to one of self sufficiency. Our emphasis is on teaching life and job skills, bible study and encouraging women through a Christian mentoring relationship. In January we will offer a variety of programs/ministries to a low income, 100 unit community off of Western Blvd near NCSU. With the help of volunteers we hope to offer:
· Life/job skills classes (budgeting, job readiness & keeping a job, conflict resolution)
· bible studies
· mentors
· computer skills
· parenting classes and a “mommy and me” preschool program
· help with online GED classes
This is an amazing opportunity for you to reach out to women in your community and equip them with the skills needed to enhance their life and develop a relationship with Jesus Christ. CWJC provides all volunteer/mentor training and necessary class materials.
If you are interested in finding out about how you can become involved as a volunteer or mentor please contact Cynthia Thelen at 231-3995 ext 113 or cwjc@raleighbaptists.org.
